speaking of the “People’s Grocery Store” … here in the delightful P.R. of mid-Michigan … the food banks are mostly kept barren by the demand from all the faithful union workers who are now out of work after they’ve (virtually, so far) bankrupt their employers. And, as good little grasshoppers, they’re all whineing and crying destitution and praying for the Obamanation to support thwm, since they blew every penny they ever “earned” on extravagent lifestyles. Me, I’ve been prepared … since the late 60’s … to defend my savings from the heathens … and whilest they may well overcome me with their numbers … the armed revolution will claim many of their numbers!
ONOH, I guess I could accept retirement and move back to a somewhat more sane political atmosphere in Alberta … LOL

That’s funny and not funny…..it’s like everything else – mature reasonable people see it as such silly nonsense that it could never happen and expect that no one could take it seriously……the other side sees it as one of their entitlements and so it happens – like the woman who said she won’t have to worry about the mortgage or gas for her car – she was dead serious. Yikes.

@Liberty Girl: Great minds do indeed think alike! We planted a large garden (approx. 40′X40′) this year (we live on 1.4 acres) that gave us a bumper crop of veggies. So at the end of the season, we plowed more ground to double the size of the garden for next year. It was very reassuring to know that we could grow our own food if times get really bad. Now we have neighbors asking how to do the same.

@D.W.: A victory garden is a good way to start. We have a 1/4 acre plot and I’ve had multiple frames going all summer, and now into winter, supplying almost all of our fresh veg needs.

11? Anyway, I check in everyday, now that I’ve discovered a fellow “subversive”. I, too, will give no quarter to the Manchurian Candidate-elect. And as you wrote, I also find myself considering things like how to defend my neighborhood, family, and friends from the coming conflict.

I can already feel that this will be a cold and bitter winter…
