We’re Bumming Their High

By  ·  November 15th, 2008

With the lack of parity that has become the baseline for big media, USA Today publishes this whinge about racist incidents since the election of The One.  No mention, of course, of the increase in incidents where Obamessiah fans actually accuse others of being racists for failing to vote “correctly.”

Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting “Assassinate Obama.” Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.

Wow, that Kool-Aid goes down smooth, doesn’t it?  Didn’t you all feel the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony?  Between the kids walking through our neighborhood chanting O-Ba-Ma, and the kids around my son’s school doing the same, I sure as fuck didn’t.

I must say, it comes as a complete shock to me that the election of the Messiah has NOT, in fact, put an end to racism as we know it.  I’m sure it’s all our fault for voting for the not-socialist candidate.

  1. You mean like, Blacks and Gays suddenly discovering they don’t like each other? Coalition-building with identity politics is bound to bite back sooner or later.

  2. When I read that cheesy line about “the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony”, I laughed so hard I choked on my coffee…

Nope. No bias in the media. Not at all. Look! Something shiny!

  3. Screw racial progress and harmony! I want my freakin’ unicorn and some candy, dammit! Where’s that age of plenty I was promised? Well? I’m waiting! If Obama doesn’t get this economy cleared up, pronto, I’m going to be forced to buy store-brand bourbon. That scenario won’t be pretty, I can assure you!

  4. So how many of these incidents are, like, real?

Also no mention of the famous Hanging Sarah Palin.

  5. AP story. No byline. Douglass Daniel writes for AP. He declared Sarah Palin’s linking Barack Obama to two white guys was “racist.” Causing me to agree about racism, but not about who the racist was. THAT Glenn admonished me “if by that I meant to criticize Obama, of course I was a racist.” But I wasn’t. I meant to shit on Daniel for what he said. Does that makes me a racist anyway? Grumble. Grumble.

  6. no, not THAT Glenn:
Of course you are a racist. You did not vote for Obama, therefore, you are a racist. Case closed.

I hope I cleared that up for you.

  7. and, just as a little Eeyore sidenote… I have a feeling that “race relations” are going to get worse before they get better.

Obama is not a post-racial candidate… he has never been post-racial in his life. He’s just less “in your face” about his race baiting than Jesse and Al, that’s all.

  8. Thanx, jana. So THAT Glenn really was right.

AP dredged up Duke Lacrosse G88 ringleader Paula McClain to carp on Sarah Palin’s executive appointments for picking people from the wrong Indian Tribes. Like there was a quota system. Saw it written elsewhere Gov. Palin was the post-racial candidate. Apparently too post-racial.

    Yeah, I’m still priapistic.
