jana, I see u saw the “wedding announcement,” and tools and toolboxes are shaping up to be a sore point.

Preferring to negotiage without preconditions in interest of domestic tranquility, I pre-emptively declared that the sets of tools in garage (many toolboxes) perviously ordered in the subsets [Dad Tools] and [Kid Tools] would henceforth be merged into the set of [Tools.] But that turns out not to solve the problem. When I broached this to Girlchild, she allowed she’d already been bitching about [Tools] left lying out in the yard, wherever his member of the set of [Mmotorcycle] last parked. (The set [Motorcycle] has two elements [His, Hers.])

I do nevertheless stand on Principle that molesting the set [Dad Work Tools] that live in the house would be punished up to and including bloodshed. Therefore, for Harmony’s sake, I refrain from buying the $50 small diagonal cutters I really, really want. Girlchild would find them too handy when she needed to cut coat hanger, piano wire, etc and I would be forced to kill her. Which would fuck up the wedding.

When spouse and I married, I came equipped with my very own toolbox. And, it was much nicer (and larger) than the one he had. Since then, we’ve bought “community” tools: miter saw, table saw, corded drill, dremel, etc… He still has the bigger gun safe, though.

We’re traditional that way.

I got phonecall from a bud one day. He was seeking a driver disk for a HL1240 printer and knew I owned such animal. I rummaged around and found it, left in an accessible spot, called back:
Me: I found that disk.
Him: Great! My wife is in town; I’ll get her to stop by and pick it up.
Me: Ok. In case I’m out, it’s on top of the toolbox on the coffee table.

And as I said that I thought, “There’s rednecks in this house.” I need to point out it was not my toolbox. It was Girlchild’s toolbox.

That gender thingie said that there’s only a 22% chance that I’m a girl. My husband would beg to differ…

Speaking of percentages, this here thingie says LG has an 18% chance of being a girl. Which may have something to do with it. I just take her word.
