Wrote down the milepost markers where he threw the butts, the times, his license number, and his physical description. Then stopped and called the police once we finished driving through the coast range. That butthead started three fires that night, and caused one house to burn down. He did end up in prison for his efforts. The butts were only worth $500 a piece, but the reckless endangerment charge ( the house was occupied ) put him away.
