The woman and I form a two person militia. Beyond this, the problem comes down to individualism. We’re too damn individualistic to join anything larger than our little two-person unit. I suppose the bright side is that mobs make easier targets than individuals.

sort of the old “I’d never join any organization that would have me as a member” quandry, huh?

I’ll just opt for the ad-hoc militia … they come marching in their pretty red suits with their shiny gold buttons, and their Bambi attendance medals … I’ll be one of the guys dressed in busckskin behind a tree … heh.
