  7. Heh. I’d have gone there and made my own personal post to the pin-dick, but he requires you to register first(naturally). First off, as poorly as the site is laid out, there is little reason to believe he has the computer-savvy to find it out from anywhere else I’ve posted. So I’m not about to give the little shitforbrains my e-mail, and let him start bombing me with threats of “drastic, federal-type action stuff” if I don’t fall in line (although that would be almost worth the read, just for laughs). And what the fuck am I supposed to be worried about, anyway? We see how Urkel reacts to pirates who seize American property and threaten American lives, right? I’m quakin’ here…make it stoooop!!!

  8. These “diversity professionals” are also illiterates and yet I have no illusions that they are not dangerous. I spoke to several colleagues about the dumb lecture we sat through and we all realize that this program comes from our administration and these people are political appointees. You think ACORN is stuffed with Penn educated MBA’s? They are doing someone’s dirty work and it wouldn’t surprise me if the person who runs this site is also carrying out their marching orders.

  9. God, these people are idiots. Um….as an American, I can say anything I wish about the president. It’s called the First Amendment to the Constitution. You may have heard of it.

But seriously, how is that a Dem friend of mine accused Republicans of marching in lock-step, but I have yet to hear a single Republican calling for people to be reported for not towing the line?

Democrats are seriously lucky that irony doesn’t have any weight, because they’d be crushed underneath it daily.

“Democrats are seriously lucky that irony doesn’t have any weight, because they’d be crushed underneath it daily.”

Quite true…but they don’t do much self examination, it seems. That is one thing that really bothers me about the left: Many of those ideas just don’t make sense!!

  16. Joseph, Sebastian,
I couldn’t agree more! It frequently seems to me that liberals only associate and discuss with other liberals, which allows them to never give any thought to the rationality/substance of their arguments. Of course when they do try and argue their points, oftentimes they find they don’t actually have any valid ones to make.
Of course, I don’t help the matter. Many (if not most) of my friends are staunch liberals, and most of the time I can’t muster the energy to engage them in discussion. Frequently because I know I will simply not be heard.

  17. Calluna,
I suspect this is because left wing liberals (not all liberals) FEEL, they don’t THINK. They won’t listen because one cannot overrule feelings with reason in some people.

Actually, I’ve found this to be true of most liberals and most conservatives, though I don’t think most on either side do it to shield themselves.

I do have to say that I have had even more fun with the hardcore conservatives at work than the liberals, since I’m a gun-owning libertarian. Everyone there (right and left) assumes I’m right-wing because of the guns. But the look of shock on the faces of the conservatives when they spout some poorly thought out drivel is priceless.

The liberals assume up front that we won’t agree on much, which is true. But the guys on the other side never see it coming.

  20. @Joseph: SO, so true. I had a boyfriend (a Manhattan born & raised liberal) say to me many, many years ago, “You can’t tell me I’m wrong about this because you can’t tell me that my feelings are wrong”. I wanted to smack him at the time because I knew that was a totally bogus way to end an argument. He did it again a couple years ago when we were out for dinner with our respective partners (yes, we’re still friends. He has some positive qualities, I promise.). It happened to be shortly after I finished reading Atlas Shrugged (wherein Rand does a brilliant job of demonstrating how ridiculous that ‘argument’ is), and it was all I could to to not laugh out loud.

  21. @Laughingdog: You make a very good point. Too many people on both sides/extremes simply do not give enough thought to whether or not their arguments have any rational substance. I shouldn’t have singled out liberals in that area, but that’s the side I see it from more often, simply because I (as a consequence of where I grew up and where I went to school) have more liberal friends than conservative friends.
