Stacking the Deck

By  ·  April 12th, 2009

I’m sure none of my 342 regular readers is at all surprised to hear this:

Nevertheless, about that “surprise visit”.

It wasn’t. The visit was communicated a full 24 hours in advance and a small contingent of soldiers – not screaming hoards – were rustled into a meeting place at Camp Victory.

Got this email from a sergeant that was there.

“We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.”

Take a look at the picture at AP and notice all the cameras are the same models? Coincidence? I think not.

I’m SHOCKED, I tell you.  *yawn*

  1. Wow. It’s like he wants people to clown on him. Honestly, I just have this image of Obama screaming at someone for getting in his shot, like a dark skinned version of Christian Bale with Dumbo ears. He’s our rockstar president.

  3. Well, now you have 343 readers. Caught a comment or two of yours on Hot Air and popped over. I like your blog, keep up the good work!

As for O’Bambi & the troops, it’s no surprise they were screened, the majority of those serving are not exactly “rabid” fans of “Teh One”…

  4. Surprised might not be the exact term. Disheartened or disgusted might be more like it.

  5. I see a lot of similar stroies from the North Korean press. Happy, well-fed citizens cheering and waving to Dear Leader.

  6. I am surprised. I had taken those photos at face value and assumed that, just like in the civilian world, some of the troops were pretty damned happy to have the man as president. I would strongly disagree, of course, but that wouldn’t have shocked me.

That there was need (or, hell, even the though) of pre-screening for support surprises me, though.

Which proves that I’m just fucking naive, I guess.

    Disappointing.

President Obama received 44% of the military vote, an increase over the previous year, of course.

If you wonder why no one is following you right wing nut jobs, it’s because of crap like this.

  9. @Henry F: Oh good on you, citing partisan hacks as your source. Regardless, GENIUS, the post refers to THIS incident.

There, there, I know. Reading is HARD.

  10. Henry F..I have about as much faith in that poll being accurate as I do in the ability of Tim Geithner to count to 3 without using his frickin’ fingers.
