Grammy-award winning musician Tony Bennett told CNSNews.com he “loves everything” Barack Obama has done in his first 100 days as president and thinks every American should “give him all-out support for anything he wants to do.”
Bennett further said that Americans should imitate the other countries of the world that support Obama. “I really hope that every citizen of the United States would imitate the rest of the world because they’re all for Obama,” said Bennett. “Every other country adores what happened – in our great country – to have him as president.”
One wonders how he’s survived this long being entirely incapable of independent thought.

All-out support for anything he wants to do?
I don’t think so, Mr. Sings-Okay-but-not-as-good-as-Dean-Martin.
I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt regarding his statements, because he’s about 112, and probably senile.
Surely he’s not THAT incoherent due to plain stupidity… One hopes.

I wonder why more musicians don’t follow the example of Alice Cooper: “Why do you want my opinion on politics? I’m an entertainer; I have no qualifications to speak about politics.”

Because he’s relied on his voice for his income, not his brains.

Interesting idea for a satire, actually. Do you think it would be possible to act sycophantic enough to illustrate the folly of such behavior to those who engage in it sincerely?

Tony left his brains AND his heart, (and probably a skid mark) in San Francisco…
Hey Tony, shut up and sing.

I’ve always liked Tony Bennett. As such, I would say, “Please, shut up and sing.”

Fuck Tony Bennett…I would go drinking with Dean Martin, though. I saw the later in Vegas once…with Goldie Hawn…great show…had to sneak in do to the age deal. Felt like Matt Helm.

I just decided I’m going to use the 3 Tony Bennett CDs O have for target practice.

The utter vacuousness of those statements does have one positive effect for Mr. Bennett: It makes them almost impossible to lampoon. Nothing you could put in his mouth would damn what passes for his intellect as much as his own utterances.

Just goes to show, that our celebrities are about as deep as a mud puddle, and as intelligent. Just because they are public figures and people like to hear them sing or watch them act doesn’t mean they have any abilities beyond what they do for a living.

As the others have said, in many different ways, why the fuck would ANYONE expect a celebrity to have a clue? Even a cluebat couldn’t inject an actual thought into most of the various clownheads … being entirely composed of ossified matter (the heads, not the cluebat).
The opinions of dipshits that have never done actual work in their lives, and spend more time avoiding taxes than entertaining, are not something that have more value than bird droppings!
