The California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a young woman who pulled a co-worker from a crashed vehicle isn’t immune from civil liability because the care she rendered wasn’t medical.

The divided high court appeared to signal that rescue efforts are the responsibility of trained professionals. It was also thought to be the first ruling by the court that someone who intervened in an accident in good faith could be sued.

Lisa Torti of Northridge allegedly worsened the injuries suffered by Alexandra Van Horn by yanking her “like a rag doll” from the wrecked car on Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Torti now faces possible liability for injuries suffered by Van Horn, a fellow department store cosmetician who was rendered a paraplegic in the accident that ended a night of Halloween revelry in 2004.

Kiss my ass.  The entirety of it.   Please?  

Yes, most people know that moving an accident victim is not the best idea, but this bullshit judgement insinuates that the defendant damaged the plaintiff a’purpose, that she deliberately cause the cow’s paraplegism.  Now, considering the girls were partying together, I’d venture to guess the plaintiff did not embark upon the evening actually planning to injure her co-worker, as something like that would be far more easily accomplished with a semi-auto, a length of sturdy pipe, or even, you know, your hands and the correct application of leverage.

What we actually have here is just another fucking freeloader, looking to make someone pay for the injustice of the universe, because she was surely about twelve seconds away from becoming The Greatest Cosmetician Who Ever Lived…at least until that bitch broke her back.

Opponents of a proposal that would allow city officials to enter homes and businesses they they don’t think are up to snuff are expected to descend on the City Council tonight.

For council members, the proposal is necessary to bring Kenneth City’s appearance up to snuff. They and their supporters say the town has deteriorated in recent years and it’s getting worse every day. They blame homes abandoned from foreclosure, lazy property owners and renters who fail to maintain their homes. The result: falling property values in this city of 4,400 people.

The ordinance would set minimum standards for all property owners. But what has property owners ticked off is the provision allowing city officials to enter any home or business to inspect the interior. And they can seek a court order to force an owner to comply.

Kenneth City is a tiny little enclave – sure as fuck does not rate the label of “city” – out on the St. Pete penninsula here in Florida.  It is a widely acknowledged truth – or at least a firmly held preconception – that everyone on that benighted swath of land is utterly bugfuck crazy.

A plan by the sodding City Council to INVADE PEOPLE’S HOMES?!??!!  What the entire fuck do they think the’re doing?  Who the entire fuck do they think they are???  This is not a clever plan to increase property values, this is some tinpot tiny-dicked tyrant’s way of attempting a power grab…and the fact that it’s in KENNETH CITY, FLORIDA illustrates exactly the mind-numbing stupidity of this pseudo-person.  

I am very glad to see reports that the council meetings have been packed with opponents since the announcement of this fly-covered horseshit.  Don’t back down, you fucking idiots, or I’ll have to come over there with my cheese grater.

Once it was obvious that Obama was going to win, Grossmann said, she left the building alone shortly after 9:30 p.m. and headed to her room.

Grossmann, who is white, said she told the women, who were black, “You guys don’t even know me. There’s no reason to think I’m racist.”

At that point, she said, she pushed the bigger one in the group, and “she punched me, and the back of my head hit a brick wall.”

Message to self-entitled young people who believe their vote for The Empty Suit makes them morally superior:  

Most of us are not young, inexperienced kids.  

Quite a few of us are armed.

John McCain’s presidential campaign has discovered the remix-unfriendly aspects of American copyright law, after several of the candidate’s campaign videos were pulled from YouTube.

McCain has now discovered the rights holder friendly nature of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which forces remixers to fight an uphill battle to prove that their work is a “fair use.”

However, instead of calling for an overhaul of the much hated law, McCain is calling for VIP treatment for the remixes made by political campaigns.

McCain’s proposal: complaints about videos uploaded by a political campaign would be manually reviewed by a human YouTube employee before any possible removal of the remix. The process for complaints against videos uploaded by millions of other Americans would stay the same: instant removal by a computer program, and then possible reinstatement a week or two later after the video sharing site has received and manually processed a formal counter-notice.

It may seem a small thing, but it’s simply indicative of the way these buffoons think.  They consider themselves the Elite, if not actual fucking Royalty, and rules exist only to bend to their will.  Oh, and to keep us rabble in check.

McCain is a Democrat in Republican clothing…which is just another way of saying he’s a snake in snake’s clothing.  How I wish the Libertarian party could field someone other than the batshit insane!  But as long as money rules, the old established houses will continue to be the only ones with a legitimate shot at the “Throne.”  And that, fellow citizens, benefits absolutely no one but them.
